Layered defense is what keeps a community standing during an attack. ## What a raid is[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/discord-bots/discord-anti-raid-bot#o-que-e-raid) A raid is a coordinated attack: dozens or hundreds of accounts join at once to flood the server with spam, links and abuse. Without a defense, it turns a healthy community into chaos in a few minutes. The good news is that simple layers of protection stop most of these attacks. ## Protect the entrance[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/discord-bots/discord-anti-raid-bot#proteger-entrada) The first line is the door. Requiring verification before unlocking channels blocks automated accounts the moment they arrive. See how to set it up in [member verification](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/discord-bots/discord-oauth-verification-bot). Treating very new accounts more strictly reduces raids, since attacks tend to use freshly created accounts in bulk. ## Anti-spam[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/discord-bots/discord-anti-raid-bot#anti-spam) | Spam signal | Defense | | ------------------------ | ---------------- | | Many messages per second | Rate limit | | Same message repeated | Repeat detection | | Mass links | Link filter | | Excessive mentions | Mention limit | ## Lockdown mode[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/discord-bots/discord-anti-raid-bot#modo-bloqueio) When the attack starts, seconds count. Have a lockdown command ready that closes the entrance and mutes channels all at once, instead of trying to ban accounts one by one in the middle of the chaos. Once it is contained, log everything to understand what happened. A [logging and audit bot](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/discord-bots/discord-logging-bot) keeps the history of the attack so you can adjust your defenses. ## After the attack[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/discord-bots/discord-anti-raid-bot#depois-do-ataque) * Stronger verification at the entrance * Spam limits reviewed * Incident logs analyzed * Lockdown mode tested and documented Add automatic moderation with a [moderation bot](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/discord-bots/discord-moderation-bot-minecraft) and keep everything online with reliable [bot hosting](https://streethosting.com.br/en/bots). It is a coordinated flood of many accounts, usually new ones, joining to fill channels with mass spam, links and abuse. Within minutes it can make the server unusable if there is no defense. Is join verification enough on its own? It helps a lot, because it stops most automated accounts before they act. But the best setup combines verification with spam limits and a lockdown mode for whatever gets through. How do I detect a raid as it starts? By abnormal patterns: many new accounts joining together, repeated messages at high speed and mass links. A bot with alerts warns you early, giving you time to switch on lockdown mode. What is lockdown mode? It is an emergency state that closes the entrance to new members and mutes channels all at once. It contains the attack while your team cleans up the damage and adjusts the defenses. Next step See bot plans 24/7 Discord bots with fast activation and support in Portuguese.
