With paid hosting, players can join at any hour through the IP or domain. ## What 24/7 means[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/minecraft/24-7-minecraft-server#o-que-significa-24-horas) A 24/7 server means the Minecraft Java process keeps running nonstop on a remote machine. Players connect whenever they want, whether it is morning, the middle of the night or the weekend, without the owner having to turn on a computer. * The world and everyone's progress persist between sessions. * Automatic farms and real-time plugins stay active. * Friends in different time zones can join without depending on your schedule. ## Hosting vs running it at home[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/minecraft/24-7-minecraft-server#hospedagem-vs-casa) Running a server on your personal PC works for quick tests, but not for a community that expects constant availability. Hosting puts your server on hardware built to stay on all year. * **At home:** a residential IP changes, latency varies, the PC has to stay on, and noise and electricity become hidden costs. * **With hosting:** a fixed IP, a panel with start/stop, backups and support when something breaks in the middle of the night. Leaving a PC on 24/7 at home can cost more in electricity than a basic hosting plan, on top of the risk of downtime when nobody is home to restart it. ## How to guarantee uptime[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/minecraft/24-7-minecraft-server#como-garantir-uptime) 1. Keep your invoice up to date to avoid automatic suspension. 2. Pick enough RAM to handle player peaks. 3. Update plugins gradually, never all at once. 4. Set up automatic backups in the control panel. 5. Use Paper instead of plain vanilla for better performance. * Renew the plan before it expires. * Monitor TPS and RAM in the control panel. * Test plugins after every update. Just getting started? Yes. With paid hosting and an invoice that is up to date, the machine stays on continuously. The world, farms and plugins keep running even with zero players online. Can my PC replace 24/7 hosting? Technically yes, but in practice it burns electricity, depends on your home internet, and restarts after a power outage or a Windows update. What takes a 24/7 server down? The most common causes are an overdue invoice, not enough RAM, a plugin crash, a botched update and an unscheduled hardware restart.
