Install a rewards plugin like **VotingPlugin** to reward voters automatically. ## What Votifier is[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/minecraft/votifier-minecraft-setup#o-que-e-votifier) Votifier (now replaced by NuVotifier) is a plugin that lets a Minecraft server receive notifications from the main server lists. When a player visits a list like Minecraftservers.org and votes for your server, the list sends a request to NuVotifier, which then fires an event inside the server. With a rewards plugin installed alongside it, you can reward voters automatically: give them in-game money, items, temporary ranks or run any command. Voting is one of the cheapest ways to promote a server organically. ## Installing NuVotifier[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/minecraft/votifier-minecraft-setup#instalar-nuvotifier) 1. Go to Modrinth or SpigotMC and download the NuVotifier version that matches your server. 2. Put the .jar file in the server's **plugins** folder. 3. Restart the server. NuVotifier will create the **plugins/NuVotifier** folder with its configuration files. 4. Open **config.yml** to see the generated public key and confirm the port. Always use NuVotifier, not the original Votifier. The original project is archived and no longer gets security updates. ## Setting the port and key[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/minecraft/votifier-minecraft-setup#configurar-porta) In NuVotifier's **config.yml**, the most important fields are: * **port**: the port NuVotifier listens on. The default is 8192. * **publicKey**: the public key, generated automatically. You will need it when you list the server on the vote lists. * **token**: a token for protocol v2 (more secure). Some modern lists use this field instead of the public key. Remember to open the NuVotifier port in the server firewall. Without it, the lists cannot send votes and the plugin will not work. For servers hosted at StreetHosting, open a ticket to have the port opened. ## Listing your server on vote lists[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/minecraft/votifier-minecraft-setup#cadastrar-lista) Once NuVotifier is running, add your server to the main vote lists. When you register, provide: * Server IP (or custom domain) * NuVotifier port (default: 8192) * Public key or token generated by NuVotifier * Supported Minecraft version Popular lists in Brazil include Minecraftservers.com.br, Minecraftlist.org and TopG.org. The more lists you join, the more visibility and votes your server gets. ## Rewarding players for voting[](https://streethosting.com.br/en/guides/minecraft/votifier-minecraft-setup#recompensar-votos) NuVotifier on its own only receives votes. To reward players, install a compatible rewards plugin. The most widely used options are: * **VotingPlugin**: the most complete. It supports streak rewards, milestones and custom commands. * **SuperbVote**: simpler and easy for beginners to configure. * **CMI**: if you already use CMI on your server, it has built-in vote support. Offer rewards that encourage a daily voting habit, like cumulative streak bonuses. Players who vote every day also tend to play more, which improves your server's ranking on the lists. The original Votifier has been discontinued. NuVotifier is the community-maintained version, compatible with Paper, Spigot and Fabric. For new servers, always use NuVotifier. Which port does NuVotifier use? The default port is 8192. You need to open that port in the server firewall so the lists can send votes to your server. Does the server have to be online to receive votes? Yes. NuVotifier needs the server to be running to receive votes in real time. Some rewards plugins store missed votes and hand them to the player when they log in. Can I reward votes with items, money or ranks? Yes. Plugins like VotingPlugin or SuperbVote work alongside NuVotifier and let you configure any kind of reward: items, money, temporary permissions, commands or combinations of them.
